Injection Molding Technicians
Description

Sets up and operate injection-molding machines to cast products from thermoplastic materials. Responsible of
maintenance of injection processes to meet standard cycle times and quality requirements. Experience and knowledge
of proper operation of injection molding press and material handling equipment and ability to operate a forklift is
required

Responsibilities

Performs mold changes; Install dies on machine according to work order specifications; Responsible for molding
machine set up including ancillary equipment as related to the molding process.
Follow and document process parameters to ensure repeatable results; Ability to properly handle material, molded
product and related inventory control; Responsible for proper handling and care of all materials, molds and tooling;
Responsible for completing Mold Setup and Resin Change Checklists.
Assisting in modification of existing procedures and creation of new standardized work procedures; Process molding
parameters to achieve quality parts and optimized cycle times; Use troubleshooting skills to improve and develop
repeatable molding processes; Address unacceptable reject levels; Respond to machine alarms in a timely manner
Use a crane hoist to perform mold changes and maintenance of molding machines; Set up End of Arm tooling for robotic
part removal and trimming; Ability to read and interpret blue prints; Utilizing and understanding all applicable
subcomponents of the production order packet; Performs all the function and responsibilities of a material handler;
Responsible for clear and consistent communication between shifts

Qualifications

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in injection molding setup and
processing; Candidate that have knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within mold setting
are strongly preferred; Must rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals in a variety of tasks; Keeps
knowledge and skills current.
Experience working in fast pace, high change environment, with limited supervision - self-starter; Strong attention to
detail with excellent prioritization and follow up skills; possess good communication skills - both writing and speaking;
Be able to work under time pressure and prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner; be able to maintain a positive
and cooperative attitude daily and under deadlines.
